Course Description

The purpose of this class is to allow students to show high school content area competency and fulfillment of HS+ graduation requirements through the completion of online independent portfolio assignments. Students will develop educational plans designed around their personal aspirations, develop self-awareness and identify strategies and resources that will assist in achieving professional and academic goals, including transition to college and /or certification and training programs. This competency based class allows students to work at their own pace, exit at a level appropriate to demonstrated skills and knowledge, and earn high school completion credits. This course is a non-transfer credit course for Adult Basic Education students with a goal of earning a high school diploma who, at intake, have credits placing them at 11th or 12th grade and/or score 246-255 on a CASAS test.
