Introduction to Education w/ Field Experience

Designed for students who are considering teaching as a profession, the course will examine historical and philosophical foundations of American education, learning theories, contemporary students, and curriculum development. The course will also explore the social, political, cultural, and economic pressures that influence current issues and trends in education. . Includes a required field experience in a public school K-12 setting (40 hours) that provides students opportunities to observe and reflect upon todays classrooms, students, and teachers.
