Course Description
This course is an introduction to the physiological, psychological, and social impacts of substance use and Substance Use Disorder. Aspects of substance and behavioral addictions, pharmacological actions, relapse, and relapse prevention will be examined. Evidenced-based treatment methods as well as relapse prevention strategies will be explained. The impacts of Substance Use disorder across the lifespan are examined. Co-Occurrence of Substance Use Disorder and a survey of psychopathology will be discussed.
