Admission Requirements

Admission to this program is not guaranteed upon general TCC admission. Students must complete a secondary selective admission process. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with an academic advisor and review the program’s webpage for detailed information on application deadlines, selection criteria, and required documentation. Admission is competitive and there are usually more program applicants than available positions. Students who complete program application requirements are not guaranteed program admission.

Required Coursework

Complete the courses listed below with a with a minimum grade of B. There are no attempt or expiration date rules. 

  • Complete one of the following Chemistry courses:

    • course - Introduction to Inorganic Chemistry OR

    • course - General Chemistry w/ Lab I

  • course - Human Anatomy and Physiology 1

  • course - Human Anatomy and Physiology 2

  • course - General Microbiology

  • course - Lifespan Psychology

Complete the courses listed below with a minimum grade of C. There are no attempt or expiration date rules. 

  • Complete one of the following Biology courses:

    • course - General Cell Biology OR

    • course - Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology

  • Complete one of the following Communication Studies courses:

    • course - Introduction to Communication OR

    • course - Interpersonal Communication OR

    • course - Public Speaking OR

    • course - Intercultural Communication (Formerly CMST110) OR

    • course - Professional and Organizational Communication

  • 5 credits from Humanities Distribution Courses

  • course - Introduction to Statistics

  • Complete one of the following Nutrition courses:

  • course - General Psychology

Complete the following English courses. One course must be completed with a minimum grade of B and one course with a minimum grade of C. There are no attempt or expiration date rules. 

  • course - English Composition I

  • Additional English course:

    • course - Composition II: Argument and Persuasion OR

    • course - Composition III: Writing About Literature OR

    • course - Technical Writing
