Associate in Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy

Admission to this program is not guaranteed upon general TCC admission. Students must complete a secondary selective admission process. Students are strongly encouraged to consult an academic advisor and review the program’s webpage for detailed information on application deadlines, selection criteria, and required documentation. Admission is competitive, and there are usually more applicants than available positions. Students who complete prerequisite and co-requisite courses and meet other application requirements are not guaranteed admission.

Required Coursework

• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in prerequisite courses.

• Minimum C (2.0) in each prerequisite course.

• ALL prerequisite courses must be complete (with a final grade) prior to submitting an application.

• All math and science prerequisite courses must be completed within the past 10 years.

• Students who completed prerequisite coursework at a college other than TCC must submit an official transcript to Enrollment Services for evaluation. Complete all of the following courses:

• course - Human Anatomy and Physiology 1

• course - Human Anatomy and Physiology 2

• Complete one of the following Medical Terminology courses:

  • course - Medical Terminology I OR

  • course - Comprehensive Medical Terminology

• course- Introduction to Statistics

• Complete one of the following Psychology courses:

  • course - General Psychology OR

  • course- Lifespan Psychology
