Simple Requirements
Includes all courses in the ECE Initial Certificate plus:
Completion of course - Promoting Positive Behavior I, course - Promoting Positive Behavior II, and course- Promoting Positive Behavior III is equivalent to course - Guiding Behavior and will satisfy the specialization course requirement. .
The following courses are not currently offered by Tacoma Community College but meet the specialization course requirement per state guidelines:
ECED&134 - Family Child Care
EDUC&136 - School Age Care
ECED&138 - Home Visitor/Family Engagement
Note: EDUC& 130 may count towards either the ECE Short Certificate of Specialization OR the ECE Children with Exceptionalities Certificate, but not both.
Note: ECED& 139 may count towards either the ECE Short Certificate of Specialization OR the AAS in ECE, but not both.
